Warren's Gore is an unincorporated gore in Essex County, in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, with 2 residents at the 2020 Census. It's small, about 11.4 square miles, but it holds most of Norton Pond, the source of the Coaticook River, and Vermont Route 114 passes through it. Its town business is handled by the Unified Towns & Gores of Essex County. Property that comes up is usually a camp near Norton Pond or woodland. Listings for Warren's Gore and Norton appear at the bottom of this page.
Warren's Gore was chartered on October 20, 1789, as part of the town of Warren, even though the two tracts are nearly 100 miles apart on opposite sides of the state. It never became a town of its own.
Most of Norton Pond lies in the gore. The pond is the source of the Coaticook River, which flows north into Quebec, and Route 114 runs through the gore toward Norton and the border.
Warren's Gore has no town government of its own. Its town business, including the town clerk and land records, is handled by the Unified Towns & Gores of Essex County (UTG), which also covers Averill, Avery's Gore, Ferdinand, Lewis, and Warner's Grant. The UTG's mailing address is in Island Pond (05846), and it keeps zoning bylaws and flood hazard regulations. For school arrangements, contact the Essex North Supervisory Union, and ask the UTG early about taxes, zoning, and permits for any property you're considering.
