Weybridge is a small, rural Addison County town of about 810 people just northwest of Middlebury, bordered on the north and east by Otter Creek. It's home to the UVM Morgan Horse Farm, a historic breeding farm for Vermont's state horse, open to visitors. Weybridge shares Middlebury's ZIP code (05753) and its school district: Weybridge Elementary serves PreK through grade 5, and older students attend Middlebury's union middle and high schools. Current Weybridge listings appear at the bottom of this page, and our Weybridge market report shows recent sales and prices.
Weybridge is open farm country right next to Middlebury: fields, pastures, and back roads, with Otter Creek forming much of its border and the Lemon Fair River flowing into Otter Creek by Route 23. Downtown Middlebury, Middlebury College, and Porter Medical Center are a short drive away.
The town's best-known landmark is the UVM Morgan Horse Farm, 127 acres overlooking Otter Creek. Joseph Battell, founder of the American Morgan Register, donated the land, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture moved its Morgan breeding program here in 1907. The University of Vermont has run it since 1951. Its Second Empire barn and Greek Revival brick house are on the National Register, and the farm welcomes visitors interested in the Morgan, Vermont's state animal.
Weybridge is part of the Addison Central School District. Weybridge Elementary School serves PreK through grade 5 and offers the International Baccalaureate program. Older students attend Middlebury Union Middle School and Middlebury Union High School.
Buyers in Weybridge find farmhouses, country homes on acreage, homes with views across the Champlain Valley, farmland, and land. See what's for sale now in the listings below, and check recent sale prices in the Weybridge market report, which updates as homes sell.
For homes near Otter Creek or the Lemon Fair, read the seller's flood disclosure and check the flood zone. For farmland and land, confirm septic suitability and whether the parcel is enrolled in Current Use; our Vermont Land Buying Guide walks through it.
Vermont's property transfer tax, paid by the buyer at closing, is 0.5% on the first $200,000 of a primary residence and 1.47% above that; 3.62% for a second home suitable for year-round use; and a VHFA-financed primary residence is exempt on the first $250,000. Estimate your payment, transfer tax, and cash to close with our Vermont Home Cost Calculator. Many Weybridge homes have private wells and septic systems; see our Vermont home inspection guide.
